Our Villas For Two In Abruzzo
There’s tourist Italy. And there’s the real Italy.
To find the real Italy nowadays – the Italy of olive groves and vineyards; of mountains and green spaces; of old villages and timeless tradition – you need to venture a little off the beaten tourist track.
Welcome to Abruzzo !
Tra Monti e Mare – Between the Mountains and the Sea
Just outside the small medieval hilltop town of Casoli in southern Abruzzo, on the fringes of the Majella National Park – yet within sight of the Adriatic sea – you’ll find Villasfor2.
Our own home; our three villas; and our pool are set some 1200 feet up, in an acre of south-facing countryside surrounded by olive groves and enjoying spectacular views.
We live in the tiny hamlet of Cinonni, abandoned some 40 years ago. We – and our guests – are the only inhabitants.
We have no neighbours and are only overlooked by the golden eagles, red kites and buzzards that glide down from the mountains in search of prey.
We’re rural – but not remote. Just minutes away are our local shops, bank, petrol station and good places to eat and drink.
Where Are We?
Pinpointing exactly where you can find Villasfor2 is a little like delving ever-deeper into a nest of Russian dolls:
- we’re in the tiny abandoned hamlet of Cinonni
- which is next-door to the scarcely-larger village of Ascigno
- which is in the comune of Casoli
- which is in the province of Chieti
- which is in the region of Abruzzo
- which is in Italy. The real Italy
And, to be even more precise, our GPS position is 42.148483N; 14.294264E
Which is nowhere near Tourist Italy. . .
