Now the blog's fully up and running, one of the bonus spin-offs has been getting feedback and making contact with you. To be honest, we've been amazed by the speed with which the blog has spread around the world, from Australia (g'day Sydney and Melbourne !) to the US (11 states in the Union so far. Special thanks Connecticut ! DC - Must try harder !). 

It's gratifying and encouraging that our plans to provide villa holidays for two in this beautiful, unspoiled part of Italy have clearly struck a chord, so it seems like a good time to tell you more about what you can expect on your Villas for 2 stay.

Where We Are
Click on the map of Abruzzo and you'll get a much bigger image. We're outside the village of Ascigno (too small to be on this map) about 4 miles north-west of Casoli, which you'll find  pretty much in the middle of the picture. Or go here for a more detailed view.

As you can see, we're on the very fringes of the Maiella National Park and about 25kms from the nearest Adriatic coast beach at Fossacesia.

If you're coming to Abruzzo from the UK, chances are you'll fly Ryanair from Stansted into Pescara Airport, which is about an hour's drive away from Ascigno. (We'll send you directions). Otherwise, the nearest airport is Rome and from there, it's around two-and-a-half hours by car. (Again, if needed, we'll tell you how).

When You Get Here
Park the car, pick up the key and head for your villa. You'll probably need something refreshing after your trip, so in your fridge you'll find a couple of cold beers, a big bottle of cool mineral water and a chilled bottle of local white wine waiting for you. (Or rose. Or red - your choice. We'll check with you beforehand). You might've stopped to pick up some tasty bits and pieces en route, (we'll tell you where), to fix yourselves a snack; or perhaps you've taken advantage of our offer to get in a few pre-ordered groceries for you. Either way, you'll soon be feeling like a little time on your sunbed, or maybe a leisurely dip in the pool.

Your Villa
We've mentioned the thinking behind Villas for 2 before. The kind of low-key, laid-back, civilised, holiday retreat we got so tired of looking for ourselves, that we've set one up. Your villa is simple and elegant. Architect-designed to give you space to eat, sleep and relax. A proper bathroom. A few of life's basics on hand, like fresh ground Italian coffee; English tea-bags; sugar, salt and pepper; lemons; and of course a bottle of our wonderful local organic, unfiltered olive oil. Plus your own little patio with a table and chairs. (Check out the view).

We don't see why you should use up any of your baggage allowance by cramming a big, heavy pool towel into your suitcase. So you'll find a couple waiting for you.  And a hair dryer. And a few paperbacks to read by the pool. If you need to check your mails while you're away from home - we have WiFi. And the cellphone signal's good too !
